Disruption warning as M4 and other major roads set for closures

You may need to prepare your journey in advance if you are travelling this week

There will be a series of road closures in place across Wales in the coming week with parts of the M4 due to be closed. All week from Monday, February 16 until Sunday, 22 there will travel disruption along major routes for roadworks to take place.

As well as M4 closures there will be multiple closures along A-roads across the country that could lead you to changing your planned route. A severe disruption alert has been placed with multiple routes along the A483 will be closed for some time.

M4 road closures

• The M4 eastbound junction 25A Grove Park onslip road will be closed as roadworks take place. The closure is being implemented from January 29 until Friday, February 20.
• The M4 will be closed in both directions from junction 37 Pyle to junction 42 Earlswood for cyclic maintenance roadworks. One lane will be closed as well as the entry/exit slip roads with local diversions in place. The closure will be implemented from January 25 until April 1 from 8pm until 6pm. Traffic Wales has warned drivers that the traffic disruption will be moderate as an effect.
• The M4 eastbound from junction 25A Grove Park to junction 25 Caerleon will have an inside lane closure this week. There will be slight disruption as the road is closed for roadworks to take place from January 29 until Friday, February 20.

A470 road closures

• The A470 eastbound from Pontypridd to Abercynon will be closed overnight this week for roadworks to take place. The road closure will be implemented from 8pm to 6am from February 2 until Friday, February 20.
• The A470 will be closed in both directions from Caersws to Talerddig to allow carriageway maintenance to be undertaken. Diversions will be in place as the road will be closed between 7pm and 6am from February 13 until Saturday, February 21.

A483 road closures

• The A483 southbound Coedpoeth northbound onslip will be closed with diversions in place for roadworks. The road closure is in place from February 1 until Saturday, February 21.
• The A483 southbound Plas Coch southbound onslip will be closed overnight for roadworks to take place. The road will be closed from 7pm until 6am on February 2 until Saturday, February 21. Traffic Wales has warned that this could bring “severe” disruption.
• The A483 northbound Plas Coch southbound onslip will be closed causing severe disruption this week. The road will be closed from 7pm until 6am on February 2 until Saturday, February 21.
• The A483 northbound Croesfoel onslip will be closed next week for roadworks to take place. The road will be closed from 7pm until 6am on February 2 until Saturday, February 21. Traffic Wales has warned that this could bring “severe” disruption.
• The A483 northbound Mold Road offslip will be closed from 7pm until 6am on February 2 until Saturday, February 21 for roadworks to take place. This is likely to cause severe traffic disruption.

A487 road closures

• The A487 will be closed in both directions in Aberystwyth Commins Coch for improvement work. Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 9am until 4pm from February 2 until June, 23.
