A number of road closures are in place across Wales today, Saturday, February 21, with a number of routes shut in particular due to the Waes v Scotland rugby match in Cardiff, along with other roadworks, bridge maintenance, and emergency works. Drivers are advised to plan journeys carefully, allow extra time, and check local diversion routes. Here is everything you need to know:
- Cardiff Delays expected around the city centre due to Wales vs Scotland Rugby match with road closures until 8:30pm on roads between Cardiff Central Station and around the Principality Stadium.
- The A484 in Carmarthenshire is closed due to roadworks between Heol Bwt and the Cwmpenraig turn off. A fully signed diversion route is in operation. Southbound traffic is diverted via the A484 to Saron, A486 to Pontwelly roundabout, B4336 to Llanllwni, A485 to Carmarthen, A485 to Francis Roundabout.
- Severn Bridge Monmouthshire Temporary gross weight limit of 7.5 tonnes due to bridge maintenance work on M48 Severn Bridge in both directions between J2 A466 Wye Valley Link Road (Chepstow) and J1 A403 (Aust).
- A487 Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd Temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A487 at Adwy Ddu. Expect delays until February 23.
- A472 Monkswood, Monmouthshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A472 near Cefn Mawr Lane. Expect delays.
- A483 Fabian Way, Swansea one lane closed due to roadworks on A483 Fabian Way Eastbound from Port of Swansea (Port Tennant) to B4290 (Jersey Marine roundabout, Jersey Marine).
- A40 St Clears, Carmarthenshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A40 around the Pont Y Fenni turn off. Expect delays.
- A4216 Cockett Road, Sketty, Swansea Temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A4216 Cockett Road at Townhill Road. Expect delays.
- B4385 Montgomery, Powys , is closed in both directions due to water main work between B4388 Forden Road (Montgomery) and the Hendomen turn off (Hendomen).
