The defendants were accused of speeding, keeping untaxed vehicles and keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
Their cases were heard in the magistrates’ courts in Cardiff, Newport, Taunton, Birmingham, and Carlisle.
Here’s a round-up of the cases.
Jason Rees, 42, of Margam Close St Athan, pleaded guilty to speeding in a temporary 50mph speed limit on a motorway.
At Taunton Magistrates’ Court on February 16, Rees was sentenced to pay a £117 fine, £120 in costs, and a £47 surcharge. He also had three points added to his licence.
Callum James, of Dock View Road in Barry, was found to have kept an untaxed vehicle.
James was fined £220 at Newport Magistrates’ Court on February 16. He also was ordered to pay £3.34 in back duty and £85 in costs.
Lewis Stanislaw, 27, of Shelley Crescent in Barry, has been fined £220 for speeding in a 20mph limit.
Stanislaw was also ordered to pay £120 in costs and an £88 surcharge, and had three points added to his licence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on February 18.
Joshua Hampton, of Woodham Road in Barry, was found to have kept an untaxed vehicle.
On February 20, Newport Magistrates’ Court ordered Hampton to pay a £220 fine, £85 in costs, and £53.75 in back duty.
Sonny Richardson, 37, of Blackberry Drive in Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding on a motorway.
At Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on February 20, Richardson was sentenced to pay a £67 fine, £120 in costs, and a £27 surcharge. The defendant was also handed four penalty points.
Ben Hughes-Jones, 37, of Denbigh Way in Barry, was fined £220 for keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
Hughes-Jones was also sentenced to pay £100 in costs and an £88 surcharge on February 18 at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court.
