The Gorseinon 10K returns to the streets of the Swansea community on Sunday, April 12
One of the most popular fixtures in a Swansea community’s sporting calendar returns next week with the public being informed of the road closures that will be in place to facilitate the event. The Gorseinon 10K returns to the streets of Gorseinon on Sunday, April 12, with the main race starting at 9am.
The route will start and finish close to Penyrheol Leisure Centre before heading out through Gorseinon High Street to join the newly-refurbished cycle path for 4Kkm Runners will then head towards Pontarddulais before turning to run through Grovesend as they take on the final kilometres back to Penyrheol.

A number of road closures and parking restrictions will be in place as the event takes place. They are as follows:
8.30am until 9.45am
Pontarddulais Road (closed in both directions)
Brynteg Road (and all adjoining roads)
Princess Street (and all adjoining roads)
High Street (and all adjoining roads)
8.30am until 11.30am
B2496 (and all adjoining roads)
Pentre Road/ Grovesend High Street/ Coalbrook Road (and all adjoining roads)
Heol y Mynydd (and all junctions/adjoining roads)
Pontardulais Road (both directions)
Organisers say access will be maintained for all emergency vehicles at all times.
Participants must collect their race packs, which include their bib and timing chip, in advance on Saturday, April 11, or between 7.30am and 8.30am on race day from the leisure centre and will need ID to do so.
Founded by Natalie and Matthew Ridler after their son Morgan’s cancer diagnosis the Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation supports families affected by childhood cancer. Morgan died in June 2023 but his legacy endures through their commitment to help others.
