The majority of supermarkets will be closed this Easter Sunday to give staff a well earned day off, however there will be some exceptions
This Easter Sunday, large supermarkets in England and Wales will be closed by law. This means that retail workers will have a well needed day off to celebrate the festivities. However, it means that if you’re forgotten something for your Easter dinner you may have to miss out.
But don’t fret because smaller convenience stores like Tesco Express and Co-op locations can open this Easter Sunday. Shoppers are advised to check their local stores, but we’ve compiled a list of general opening hours for various supermarkets across Wales this bank holiday.

Tesco
All Tesco stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, then re-open on Easter Monday. However, smaller express stores will be open from 7am to 11pm. You can check the opening hours of your local store here.
Co-op
Co-op is principally a convenience store operator, and all Co-op convenience stores will remain open as usual between 7am and 10/11pm throughout the Easter bank holiday weekend to serve local communities.

Asda
Asda will be one of the supermarkets closed on Easter Sunday, although you can check here if you’re local shop will be open.
Morrisons
The majority of Morrisons stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, but you can check if your local store is open here.
Sainsbury’s
On Easter Sunday, most Sainsbury’s stores will be shut, although some Sainsbury’s Local stores may also trade. Shoppers are advised to check their local store, which you can do here.
Lidl

M&S Food
Most M&S stores are expected to be closed on Easter Sunday, with reduced hours likely throughout the rest of the bank holiday weekend.
