Man in critical condition after crash

An air ambulance landed at the scene of the crash on Sunday

A man is in critical condition in hospital following a crash between a car and a motorbike on Sunday afternoon.

An air ambulance was sent to the scene of the serious crash on the A4058 Dinas Road in Tonypandy, Rhondda, on April 12.

Police were called to the crash just after 3pm and the road was shut in both directions near Pinetree Car Superstore while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesman from South Wales Police issued an update on Monday afternoon. They said: “Just after 3pm on April 12 police responded to reports of a collision between a car and motorcyclist on the A4058, Tonypandy.

“A man in his 40s was taken to hospital in critical condition and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.”

A Wales Air Ambulance spokesman said: “I can confirm the Wales Air Ambulance helicopter attended an incident in that region on Sunday.

“Our Dafen-based crew was allocated at 3.06pm and arrived at the scene at 3.33pm Our involvement concluded at 4.05pm.”
