Saffy, a German Shepherd-Border Collie cross, spent more than six months at Dogs Trust Cardiff before being adopted by Abigail, who described her as the “cheekiest girl who loves cuddles and adventures”.
Saffy arrived at the centre with little experience of the world and was frightened of new people and surroundings. With time and training from the Dogs Trust team, she gradually built up confidence.
Abigail, her new owner, said: “I’m grateful to the team at Dogs Trust Cardiff for all they did to help Saffy and for their continued support, but I’m even more grateful that her forever home is with me and her brother, Tommy. I’m proud of her progress every day.”
Kim Davies, manager at Dogs Trust Cardiff, said: “When Saffy arrived at Dogs Trust Cardiff, we knew she would need some patient, loving care to fully adjust to life in the big, wide world.”
She said: “Now she is starting her second chance, we couldn’t be happier for her.”
Dogs Trust has helped dogs like Saffy through funding from Postcode Lottery players, who have raised more than £30 million for the charity since 2014.
