Police attended the scene of the crash in Gowerton on Sunday evening
Video footage has emerged showing the shocking moment a lorry got caught under a bridge and crashed into a pole in Swansea on Sunday evening, April 12. Police confirmed they attended the crash in Gowerton and said no injuries were reported.
The video appears to show the lorry, which was carrying a skip, going under the 3.3m bridge on Victoria Road at around 5.20pm on Sunday. The bridge was seemingly too low for the vehicle and caused the driver to lose control and veer across to the other side of the road.
As it crossed over to the opposite carriageway it hit an oncoming car and then collided head-on with a pole on the junction with Fairwood Terrace. The driver can then be seen exiting the vehicle as parts of the lorry fell to the floor.
The bridge, near Gowerton Rugby Football Club, connects Gowerton to Llanelli and Swansea on the west Wales trainline. Never miss a Swansea story by signing up to our newsletter here.
