Channel 4’s Wales Decides, taking place just over two weeks before voters head to the polls to elect members of the Senedd, will air from Cardiff at 7pm on Tuesday, April 21.

The hour-long debate will bring together all major Welsh party leaders for a live televised discussion.

Leaders will outline their priorities and respond to questions from the public and their political rivals.

Eluned Morgan of Welsh Labour, Rhun ap Iorwerth of Plaid Cymru, Darren Millar of the Welsh Conservatives, Dan Thomas of Reform UK Wales, Jane Dodds of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, and Anthony Slaughter of the Wales Green Party will all take part.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy, main anchor of Channel 4 News, said: “Wales is facing an historic election that could see the collapse of the once impenetrable Labour stronghold, and the rise of Plaid and Reform altering the political landscape.

“We are in unprecedented political times.

“Wales Decides will shine a vital light on each leader’s policies and approach.

“Voters in Wales and the UK will be able to see for themselves each party outline their vision for the future.”

Wales Decides will focus on the key issues affecting the country with rigorous questioning and direct exchanges between party leaders.

The debate aims to give viewers an impartial and in-depth look at the policy differences and leadership styles at a pivotal moment in Welsh politics.

With recent opinion polls suggesting a potential political shift, the programme will address whether Reform UK could become the largest party or if Wales could see a Plaid Cymru First Minister for the first time ever.
