Tucked inside Glebe Street arcade, Refresh Juice & Wellness Bar brings a burst of colour and vitamins to the heart of Penarth.

On our visit today, the counter was lined with fresh fruit and the kind of “superfood” add‑ons from collagen to ginger shots you mostly see in city centre juice chains.
Staff were friendly and happy to talk through the different blends, which range from citrusy immunity boosters to creamier smoothie bowls topped with granola and berries.
We opted for one of Refresh’s signature collagen juices, which arrives a vivid red‑pink in a takeaway cup, lightly chilled and ready to drink on the go.

It is never going to rival a rich hot chocolate on a cold evening, but that is not really the point; this is a drink that tastes of sharp, tangy fruit with a subtle sweetness rather than something overly sugary.
The collagen itself is undetectable flavour‑wise, which will be a relief for anyone put off by the word but curious about the trend.
Alongside the juices, Refresh leans heavily into matcha there are iced matchas, hot lattes and vibrant green bowls piled high with toppings.
If you are already a matcha fan, it is an appealing local alternative to bigger chains, and the ability to customise bowls with fruit, nut butters and seeds means you can make a light breakfast or a more substantial post‑gym refuel.
Prices are what you would expect for a specialist juice bar, with drinks averaging around £8 and portions are generous enough that one drink or bowl feels like a small meal rather than a token health kick.
With gluten‑free and dairy‑free options clearly signposted and opening hours that cover the school run and lunchtime dash, Refresh Juice & Wellness Bar looks set to earn a regular place on Penarth’s grab‑and‑go map.
