The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty after a trial of being a parent of a child who failed to attend regularly at their registered school.
She had denied any wrongdoing.
Her daughter had failed to attend school last autumn, Cardiff Magistrates’ Court was told.
The woman was ordered to pay ÂŁ500 costs, a ÂŁ120 fine and a ÂŁ48 surcharge.
