The collision, involving a motorbike and a car, happened at the junction of Barry Road and Cherry Orchard at around 4pm on Tuesday, April 21. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, which officers say are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car was unhurt. The road was closed between the junctions for Barrians Way and Buttrills Road while emergency services worked at the scene and traffic built up in both directions, before reopening later in the evening.
South Wales Police say an investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time, is asked to call 101 quoting reference 2600122547.
