Discharge of condition
An application has been approved for the discharge of conditions relating to levels and materials for Planning Permission Ref: 2025/00646/FUL (demolition of an existing dwelling and replacement dwelling) at 177 Plymouth Road, Penarth.
The council confirmed that the submitted documents satisfied the requirements for conditions on levels and materials.
Rear extension
An application to replace a conservatory with a rear extension at Cliff Lea, 3 Cliff Parade, Penarth, has been granted.
The single-storey extension will wrap around the rear and side of the property.
The rear element will extend up to 1.4 metres, while the side section will have a maximum width of 2.75 metres.
The extension will use materials that match the existing house.
The council said it meets permitted development criteria and does not require formal planning permission.
Tree reduction
Approval has been granted for tree works at 10 Church Avenue, Penarth.
The proposal involves removing a large limb from the left-hand side and reducing the right side of the canopy by 25 per cent.
A diagram submitted with the application indicated rot in the left limb, which has previously failed.
The council has not objected to the works, nor does it intend to issue a tree preservation order.
Replacement extension
Plans have been approved for a single-storey extension at Brynawel, 231 Redlands Road, Penarth.
The new structure will be used as a home office and garden room.
It will replace an existing garage on the south-east side of the property.
The project also includes changes to the decking area.
Conditions have been set for obscure glazing and the completion of biodiversity enhancement measures before first occupation.
Details of materials for the decking and balustrade must also be approved by the council.
