Investigations into the collision are ongoing
A teenager has died after a crash with a lorry in Caerphilly, police have said. Emergency services were called the crash involving a car and a lorry on the A468 between the Pontygwindy roundabout and St Cenydd roundabout late on Thursday evening.
Officers attended the scene along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service at around 11.25pm.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the driver of the car, an 18-year-old man from Caerphilly county, was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesman for Gwent Police said the man’s family have been informed.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing and anyone with information, including dashcam footage, is asked to contact the force quoting log reference 2600159044.
A Gwent Police statement reads: “We received a report of road traffic collision on the A468 between the Pontygwindy roundabout and St Cenydd roundabout at around 11.25pm on Thursday.
“Officers attended along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
“The collision involved a car and lorry. The driver of the car – an 18-year-old man from Caerphilly county – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family has been informed and specially trained officers will be allocated to support them throughout the investigation.
