An air ambulance was sent to the scene of a crash near Abergavenny in the early hours of Wednesday morning
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on Hereford Road in Mardy, near Abergavenny at 3.25am on Wednesday. The collision involved one car.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said one person has been taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries as a result of the crash.
Flight tracking websites show that an air ambulance landed near the scene of the crash shortly before 4am.
The road was closed between Greystones Avenue and Maindiff Drive. Gwent Police asked people to avoid the area and find alternative routes for journeys where possible.
A police statement read: “We got a call about 3.25am this morning reporting a road traffic collision involving one car. One person has been taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.”
