Big Fresh Catering Company Limited, the operator of Cosmeston Lake Café, has submitted an application to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for a premises licence.
The application seeks permission to sell alcohol both on and off the premises from 11am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
The café also intends to provide live and recorded music from 9am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday, while late-night refreshment would be available from 6pm to 11pm.
The application was made public on May 21, giving residents until June 5 to submit any comments or objections.
If approved, the café will have more flexibility in offering a wider range of services to its customers, which could enhance its appeal as a leisure destination in the area.
This move aligns with a broader trend among cafés and eateries to diversify their offerings in a bid to attract more visitors and boost income.
The proposed changes will also mean that visitors to Cosmeston Country Park could enjoy a glass of wine or beer with their meal, either in the café or as a takeaway option for a picnic in the park.

The licensing register can be viewed at the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Civic Offices in Barry from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.
