Tell Me It’s A Dream (Transgressive)
Rosa Walton’s debut solo album Tell Me It’s A Dream sees her step away from the synthpop for which she’s become known – thanks to her work as half of Norwich band Let’s Eat Grandma – and her viral smash I Really Want To Stay At Your House, written for video game Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, she’s embracing her indie influences, and has created a really very good guitar record.
The singles Heart To Heartbreak and Sorry Anyway are earworm-level catchy, whilst Taking The Roof Down, Halfway Round The World and Prettier Things hint at something deeper. Tell Me It’s A Dream feels a world away from Let’s Eat Grandma, but Walton manages to keep the quality we’ve come to expect from her and expands her sonic output to new heights and sounds.
