The road remains closed following the collision
A cyclist is in life-threatening condition after a serious crash on a busy Welsh route. Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a bicycle and a bus at around 6am on the A48 in Pwllmeyric, near Chepstow, on Tuesday morning.
A Wales Air Ambulance was called to the crash, alongside officers from Gwent Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
A police spokeswoman said a cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision. Their condition is described as life-threatening.

Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area. Queues on surrounding routes have been reported.
A Gwent Police statement read: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on the A48 at around 6am on Tuesday, July 7.
“Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance Service.
“The collision involved a bicycle and a bus; the cyclist has been taken to hospital for treatment and remains in a life-threatening condition.
“The road remains closed at this time.”
