2Delays expected on A470 near Cardiff as lane closures in place for several days | Wales Online
There is expected to be disruption for a number of days after a lorry crash on Wednesday
Drivers travelling on the A470 between Pontypridd and Cardiff face lengthy delays over the next few days after a lorry crash.
- Traffic Wales say one lane will remain shut in both directions between Pontypridd and the Upper Boat interchange after a lorry crash. An HGV hit the central reservation on Wednesday morning and the barrier now requires emergency repairs.
- Lane two is shut in both directions with drivers heading to and from Cardiff at rush hour potentially facing lengthy delays. Traffic Wales say the lanes are expected to remain closed “for several days” while repairs continue.
- People are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys, or if possible, avoid the road at peak times altogether. “If you’re travelling in or around Cardiff please plan your journey in advance, allow extra time for your trip and, where possible, consider alternative routes or avoid the area. Thank you for your patience while repairs continue,” the organisation said in a post.
- There are multiple concerts in Cardiff over the next few days including gigs at the Castle on Thursday and Friday. Higher traffic levels are expected in the area as a result, which could potentially cause even longer delays.
