Vale of Glamorgan set for cooler weekend after hot week

Barry will see highs of 28C, with a low chance of rain and a gentle north-easterly breeze, with temperatures expected to drop to 16C overnight. 

Friday, July 17, will remain warm at 26C, with a slight chance of an afternoon shower.

Temperatures over the weekend are set to sit around the mid-twenties with highs of 25C expected on Saturday, July 18,and 23C on Sunday, July 19. 

The start of next week will see temperatures settle into the low-to-mid 20s, with generally dry conditions and sunny spells.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 24C and lows of 15C overnight. 

Penarth will also see highs of 28C today, July 16, with a low chance of rain and a gentle north-easterly breeze.

Temperatures are expected to drop to 17C overnight before reaching highs of 27C tomorrow, July 17.

Looking forward to the weekend, temperatures are also expected to sit around the mid-twenties with highs of 25C expected on Saturday, July 18, and 24C expected on Sunday, July 19.

Moving into next week, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 24C on Monday, July 20, and lows of 16C overnight, before cloudier weather takes hold on Tuesday, July 21.
