M4 updates as vehicle fire causes delays on first day of summer holiday

A vehicle fire on the M4 is causing severe disruption on Friday afternoon.

Two lanes are closed on M4 eastbound from junction 25 B4596 Caerleon Road (Caerleon) to junction 24 A449 (Coldra) in Newport.

There’s congestion to the opposite side due to onlookers.

Other stretches of the motorway are also affected by heavy traffic as the school summer holidays begin with a getaway expected as families enjoy the ongoing warm weather.
