A person has been left injured after ladders attached to a van came loose and fell onto the car behind. The motorist was treated by paramedics after the ladders fell from a van into the path of their car, police have said.
The incident happened between 5.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday on Blaen-Afon Road, Brynmawr. According to Gwent Police, ladders being carried by a van fell from the vehicle and struck the car travelling behind.
The driver of the van is reported to have left the scene before officers arrived, while the driver of the car was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. Their condition has not been disclosed.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We received a report that ladders from a van had fallen from the vehicle into the car behind while travelling on Blaenafon Road.
“The driver of the van reportedly left the scene prior to police attendance. The driver of the car received treatment at the scene from paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“Anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, between 5.30pm and 6pm is asked to contact us quoting log reference 489 of 28/07/26.”
