Lewis Jones, 35, of no fixed abode, appeared before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where he admitted a string of offences committed in Barry and Cardiff between January and May.
Among the offences was the theft of between £15 and £20 in tips belonging to Rebecca Churchill. J
ones admitted stealing the money in Barry on April 21.
The court also heard that the defendant used a stolen prescription pad in a bid to obtain diazepam and pregabalin for himself on March 13 in Cardiff.
He pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation in relation to the offence.
Jones further admitted four separate fraud offences involving the use of bank cards.
One incident saw him use a bank card belonging to another person without consent to buy alcohol, cigarettes and food worth £107.08 from three stores in Barry.
He also admitted three further fraud offences in Cardiff on March 25, May 2 and May 10, during which he dishonestly used bank cards to purchase items for himself.
In a separate matter, Jones pleaded guilty to criminal damage after smashing the rear passenger window of a Peugeot 208 belonging to Christine Allen in Barry on February 25.
The damage was valued at £135.
Magistrates were told Jones had previous convictions and was already serving a prison sentence.
The court found the offences were so serious that only immediate custody could be justified.
He was jailed for 10 weeks for the fraud offences.
The sentence for the January bank card fraud was ordered to run consecutively to a sentence imposed in a separate case on July 9.
Jones also received concurrent two-week prison sentences for the theft of tips and the criminal damage offence.
In addition, he was ordered to pay £135 compensation to the owner of the damaged vehicle and £15 compensation relating to the stolen tips.
