The fourth Tŷ Hafan Football Fives tournament, sponsored by V12 Retail Finance, will take place on Thursday, September 24, at Gol in Lawrenny Avenue.
The five-a-side competition will see 25 teams play in an all-day tournament to raise funds for the hospice that is based in Sully.
Kelly Dibble, corporate fundraising manager at Tŷ Hafan, said: “No family should have to live their child’s short life alone and by taking part in our Football Fives you’ll be helping Tŷ Hafan to walk alongside every family who needs us.
“Football Fives is a round robin league where teams initially play for position in Champions League, Europa League and ECL stages.
“Then, the tournament moves on to knock-out phases, where the winners will go through to the semi final and then the final.
“Last year’s winners were Whitehead Building Services and Wales and Cardiff City legend Joe Ledley kindly presented the trophy.”
Each team can have up to eight players – one goalkeeper, four outfield players, and three substitutes.
The day promises friendly competition, networking opportunities, and post-match pizza and a pint, all in support of children with life-shortening conditions.
Andrew Phillips, managing director of V12 Retail Finance, said: “At V12 Retail Finance, we’re incredibly proud to continue our sponsorship for Football Fives and emphasise our support of the outstanding work carried out by Tŷ Hafan.
“This event is about far more than football; it’s about bringing businesses and communities together to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with life-shortening conditions and their families.”
Last year’s event ended with Joe Ledley presenting the trophy to winners Whitehead Building Services.
Player details don’t need to be finalised at the time of registration, giving interested groups time to sort their teams.
