by David Jones

Horne, who plays ‘Gavlaar’ in the hit BBC sitcom, will take to the decks at The Philharmonic in Cardiff on Thursday, August 13, as students mark the end of exam season and look forward to the next stage of their lives.

Rubell Khan, general manager of The Philharmonic, said: “Results Day is one of the biggest celebrations in the calendar and we wanted to make this year’s event bigger than ever.

“It’s a milestone moment for thousands of students who have worked incredibly hard and deserve the chance to celebrate with their friends after months of dedication and hard work.

“Mathew Horne is an icon for so many people, and his Gavin & Stacey connection makes him the perfect person to help us mark the occasion.

“We know it’s going to be an unforgettable night, with an incredible atmosphere, great music and loads of memories made.”

The event will feature a headline DJ set, immersive lighting, confetti, and spectacular CO₂ effects creating a festival atmosphere in the heart of Cardiff.

The Philharmonic is run by independent pub company Croeso.

Other venues operated by Croeso include Retro, Brewhouse, Blue Bell, Daffodil, The Dock, The Discovery, and The Bear’s Head.

A-level results day marks the culmination of months of study and anticipation for students across the UK.

The main event at The Philharmonic will begin at 9pm, with celebrations taking place throughout the day across all Croeso venues in Cardiff.
