Batting first, Penarth raced to 182 for 5 from their 20 overs, with Zac Speirs (33, retired) and Ethan Southwell (32 from just 18 balls, retired) setting the tone at the top of the order.
Oliver Gooch (25), Fred Hall (23), and Alexander Graveson (22) all chipped in, and Archie Esterhuizen finished unbeaten on 22 as the total mounted.
Ammanford never got close to the chase: James Graveson took 2 for 9 and Ethan Southwell added a wicket with the ball too, as Ammanford were held to 60 for 4 from their 20 overs.

On the senior side, it was a tough weekend all around.
The 1st XI’s Welsh Cup run came to an end in the semi-final, beaten by 108 runs at home by Cardiff CC on Sunday, having also gone down heavily to Newport CC in the league on Saturday.
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XIs were all beaten too, by Creigiau CC, Monmouth CC, and Llandaff CC’s 4th XI respectively, with only the 5th XI picking up a win, beating Abercarn CC’s 2nd XI by six wickets.
As ever, the bar at the Athletic Ground is open through the weekend, as we move towards the last two games of the season — all supporters are welcome to come down and watch some cricket in Penarth’s 175th year.
