The Penarth Art Fair will return to Penarth Pier Pavilion from September 10 to 13, marking 10 years since it was first established.
The event will showcase original work by artists and makers from the Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff, Caerphilly, and Rhondda Cynon Taff.
Thomasin Toohie, one of the exhibiting artists, said: “The Pier is such a beautiful building and I am very excited to be showing my work for the first time at the Penarth Art Fair.”
Penarth-based artists will include Sasha Kingston, Sheridan Ward, Thomasin Toohie, Heather Treharne Jones, Catrin Awoymei, Steve Stokes and Simon Jones.
Painter Steve Stokes, who recently won second prize in the Cowbridge Open Arts Competition, will also be exhibiting.
The fair began in 2016 and has since featured the work of 42 individual artists, nine galleries, two arts collectives and a print workshop.
This year, Queen Street Gallery from Neath will return, while artists from Cardiff’s Albany Gallery will take part for the first time.
The event is organised by the Vale Arts Collective, a group of artists, makers and designers based in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Michael Goode, a Barry-based artist and printmaker who has helped organise the fair from the start, said: “It’s been great to offer the opportunity to so many artists and makers in the Vale over the years, allowing them to show their work in an iconic venue alongside galleries, and to sell their work directly to the public.”
The fair will open with a private view on Thursday, September 10.
It will then be open to the public from Friday through Sunday.
Artwork on display will include landscapes, still lifes, realist and abstract paintings, contemporary ceramics, and sculpture.
