Police are at the scene and ‘engaging’ with the demonstrators
Police are currently “engaging” with protesters at the Port of Dover where a demonstration is stopping people boarding ferries. It is believed up to 300 masked protesters are blocking the port.
Kent Police said it was aware of a protest at the ferry terminal and was “engaging with protesters”. Traffic has been stopped from going in and out of the port.
P&O Ferries said it would get passengers on to the next available sailing if they missed their scheduled crossing. Dover’s waterfront Park Run has also been cancelled. A spokesman said: “I am afraid we are going to cancel this morning. We have mass disruption with some protestors.”
The A20 is closed in both directions. There are currently four miles of congestion.
