Police have urged anyone who may have dashcam footage from the nearby area to get in touch
Two people have been arrested after a “lovable character” was found dead in woodlands with a gunshot wound.
Earlier this week South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of Ryan Kettlewell in Ecclesall Woods near Sheffield on Wednesday, September 2. It was found he had sustained a gunshot wound prior to his death.
Two people – a woman aged 34 and a man aged 36 – were arrested on suspicion of murder in Manchester and remain in police custody. Officers are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area to get in touch, reports YorkshireLive.
On Saturday, September 5, Ryan’s family paid tribute to him and described the 38-year-old as a lovable character. They said: “We will always continue to love him and will miss him greatly.”
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, who is the senior investigating officer for this case, said: “We are committed to finding answers of how Ryan lost his life.
“I continue to urge anyone with information about his death to get in touch, no matter how irrelevant or insignificant you believe it to be, it could be the missing piece we need.
“Our thoughts are with all those who knew and loved Ryan.”
