Roof replacement
Plans to replace the roof at 8, 9 and 10 St Joseph’s Mews have been approved.
The work will increase the ridge height by 50mm to improve weatherproofing.
The new roof will use Wienerberger Dunham TLE tiles in dark grey, fixed to treated softwood battens.
The existing ridge tiles will be replaced with Wienerberger multi-angle tiles, also in dark grey.
The properties are part of a curved terrace within a crescent layout.
The new tiles will match the size and style of those currently in place.
A mortarless bonding gutter will be used at roof junctions to create a neater finish.
Substation details
The council has approved details for a substation on land adjacent to Oak Court, Myrtle Close.
The substation forms part of a wider development, which includes a 70-unit extra care scheme and a separate block of 32 flats for people over 55.
The extra care scheme was approved in full, while the over-55s flats were approved in outline, with all matters reserved except access.
The substation will be built in accordance with the approved plans to ensure that visual and neighbour amenity are appropriate.
Station Hotel conversion
Conditions have been partially discharged for the conversion of the Station Hotel on Windsor Road into six residential units.
The application includes partial demolition of the existing building and associated works.
Approved documents cover biodiversity enhancement, drainage, parking, amenity space, cycle storage, landscaping and a landscape management plan.
The scheme also includes the subdivision of the hotel’s upper floors into three self-contained flats.
Home extension
Plans for a single-storey rear extension at 25 Caynham Avenue have been approved.
The extension will measure 3.1 metres in height, 2.2 metres in depth and 4.8 metres in width.
The proposal also includes a front porch, bay window and two flat-roof dormers on the front elevation.
Internal alterations will create a gym, utility room, storeroom and open-plan kitchen-diner.
The updated design will give the property a more contemporary appearance, in line with other homes in the area.
Garden annexe
Permission has been granted for a single-storey annexe at 3 Handel Close.
The 45.5-square-metre unit will be used to house an elderly family member.
It will be located 10 metres from the main house and share access and garden space.
The annexe will include a kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and a living area.
A planning condition will ensure it remains ancillary to the main property.
Sunroom extension
A sunroom extension has been approved at 27 Trem Y Bae.
The new structure will be built on the existing first-floor terrace and will have a lean-to roof.
It will measure 2.98 metres in width, 6.24 metres in depth and 2.4 metres in height to the eaves.
All materials will match the existing house.
The extension is not expected to affect the character of the property or the wider street scene.
Crossover refused
An application to create a new crossover for off-street parking at 131 Stanwell Road has been refused.
The proposal involved removing part of a hedge, wall and gate to create a parking area surfaced with permeable pea shingle.
The application aimed to facilitate the installation of a home EV charging unit.
However, concerns were raised about the potential impact on a mature street tree.
The council’s highway engineer requested input from an arboriculturist before the application could proceed.
