Action for Children’s Ty Robin Goch in Barry received Excellent ratings in well-being, care and support, and environment in its latest Care Inspectorate Wales report.
The Vale of Glamorgan service, which supports children and young people with disabilities, was graded “excellent” in well-being, care and support, and environment, with a “good” rating for leadership and management.
Laura Mason, registered manager at Ty Robin Goch, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this inspection outcome.
“Achieving excellent ratings across well-being, care and support, and environment is a fantastic recognition of the commitment and dedication shown by our team every day.
“The children and young people who stay with us are at the heart of everything we do.
“We work hard to create a warm, supportive and homely environment where they feel safe, valued and encouraged to be themselves.
“I am incredibly proud of our colleagues and grateful to the children, young people and families who help make Ty Robin Goch such a special place.
“To receive such positive feedback from CIW, with no areas for improvement identified, is a wonderful achievement for everyone involved.”
The report highlighted the high standards of care and the positive experiences of those who use the service.
Ty Robin Goch provides short breaks in a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment, giving children and young people opportunities to have fun, develop their independence and build confidence.
It also provides valuable support and respite for their families.
A spokesperson for Action for Children said: “Ty Robin Goch is one of Action for Children’s specialist short breaks services in Wales and is dedicated to helping children and young people thrive through high-quality, child-centred care tailored to their individual needs.”
Inspectors found no areas for improvement, reflecting the quality of care and support delivered by the team.
