In Barry, improvements to mobile services may affect households using aerial-based television platforms including Freeview, BT, TalkTalk, and YouView.
The upgrades aim to boost 4G and 5G coverage but could result in issues such as pixelated screens, intermittent audio, or complete loss of TV signal.
Ben Roome, CEO of Restore TV, said: “TV keeps people informed, entertained and connected.
“Restore TV ensures everyone can continue watching free to view television as mobile services are improved across the UK.”
Restore TV, a support programme delivered by Mova (Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited), is offering free assistance to anyone experiencing interference as a result of the upgrades.
The organisation is backed by the UK’s major mobile network operators: EE, Virgin Media O2, and VodafoneThree.
Mr Roome said: “If you notice new TV interference, we can help.
“We’ll send a free filter to simply fit between your aerial lead and TV or set-top box that removes mobile signals.
“We include clear instructions and our team is available online and by phone with free support.
“In most cases, the filter solves the issue, but if not, we may be able to arrange a free engineer visit depending on eligibility.”
The service prioritises additional support for viewers aged 75 and over, those who are registered blind or partially sighted, and individuals receiving certain benefits, including personal independence payments and attendance allowance.
Cable and satellite TV services such as Sky or Virgin are not affected.
However, viewers who use these services alongside an aerial-based free-to-view platform can still receive a free filter from Restore TV.
People are more likely to experience problems if they live in areas with weak TV reception, use a signal booster, or have an aerial located close to a mobile mast.
Restore TV also offers assistance to landlords and property managers of flats and communal buildings.
Anyone experiencing new interference with their free-to-view TV service is encouraged to contact Restore TV on 0808 13 13 800 or visit restoretv.uk for more information.
