The Penarth Jazz Festival returns in October with a packed programme of live music, cinema, workshops, talks, dance, and exhibitions.
Events will take place across the town from Wednesday, October 14, to Sunday, October 18.
Councillor Rhiannon Birch, cabinet member for education, arts and the Welsh language, said: “Penarth Jazz Festival is a fantastic example of the vibrant cultural programme we want to see flourishing across the Vale of Glamorgan.
“This year’s festival brings together an incredibly varied programme, from internationally acclaimed performers and big band jazz to cinema, workshops, dance and exhibitions, creating opportunities for both dedicated jazz fans and those discovering the genre for the first time.
“I hope residents and visitors alike will take the opportunity to enjoy what promises to be a brilliant celebration of music, creativity and culture in Penarth.”
The main festival programme will feature some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians at Penarth Pier Pavilion.
The event will conclude with a special Sunday evening performance by the Capital City Jazz Orchestra at The Paget Rooms.
Acclaimed singer and multi-award-winning jazz vocalist Ian Shaw, described as one of Britain’s finest jazz singers, will perform at the Pavilion on Friday, October 16.
He will also lead a vocal workshop earlier that afternoon.
The festival opens on Wednesday, October 14, with the Mark Sambell Trio, followed by the Keith Little Trio with Jane Williams on Thursday after a cinema talk from John Hellings.

Sunday’s programme includes Latin jazz from The Ross Hicks Trio performing as Los Diablos Ritmicos.
Ms. Maggie & The Cat’s Pyjamas will bring 1920s swing to the Pavilion in the afternoon.
The festival finale features the Capital City Jazz Orchestra at The Paget Rooms.
The Pavilion cinema will host a film series exploring the lives of jazz legends.
Screenings include Everybody Digs Bill Evans, Bird, and Miles Ahead.
Additional events include Her Frame, Her Sound, an exhibition celebrating women in jazz through photography, as well as talks and workshops.
A Festival Pass is available, offering discounted access to the full programme compared to individual tickets.
Tickets for individual events and the Festival Pass are available through Penarth Pier Pavilion.
