Businesses can access tools to help employees

A new tool has been launched to help employees manage their money. MoneySuperMarket has launched its free Big MONY Workshop toolkit – offering businesses across the UK practical resources to help employees feel more confident about managing their money.

Employees can access guidance covering everything from cutting household bills and essential spending to planning for the future. The Big MONY Workshop began as an internal financial wellbeing day. Following positive feedback from colleagues, MoneySuperMarket is making the blueprint for its Big MONY Workshop available to businesses across the UK, launching with a live workshop at marketing agency Bottled Imagination in Greater Manchester.

MoneySuperMarket’s Personal Finance Expert Kara Gammell, who is hosting the workshop, said: “With many UK households struggling to make ends meet, people increasingly value practical support that helps them feel more confident about managing their money, alongside more traditional workplace benefits.

“The Big MONY Workshop is about giving people something really simple but valuable: dedicated time during the working day to look at their finances and find practical ways to make their money work harder. For employers, it’s an opportunity to offer support that can make a meaningful difference to people’s everyday lives.”

The workshop is flexible so employers can tailor sessions to suit employees on topics such as budgeting and savings on household bills, understanding credit scores and saving and investing. Companies are encouraged to bring in existing partners, such as pension providers, to run sessions for employees.

MoneySuperMarket’s quarterly Household Money Index showed households are overspending by an average of £325 each month on essential bills and outgoings.

Katy Powell, co-founder of digital agency Bottled Imagination, said: “As a small business, we want to make sure we’re doing what we can to help our employees feel confident about managing and growing their money, especially as many costs are rising. The Big MONY Workshop gives us something we can proactively offer to our team to help. It’s practical and useful information and tips from experts on where to make savings they might not know about or have thought of.”
