The Pearl Revue to raise funds for Tenovus Cancer Care

by David Jones

Kit Lambert, from Penarth, is best known for his work on detective dramas including Father Brown and Death in Paradise.

He is teaming up with his wife, cabaret star Oola Pearl, to produce a charity edition of The Pearl Revue at Dinas Powys Parish Hall on October 24.

All profits from the show will go to Tenovus Cancer Care.

Mr Lambert said: “Like so many people, we have been affected by cancer through the experiences of family and friends.

“Oola and I are delighted to be able to support and raise much-needed funds for this terrific Welsh charity.”

The cabaret night will feature a cast of seasoned entertainers, with Mr Lambert himself joining Ms Pearl on stage for a special performance.

Their act will draw on Welsh mythology, offering a “seasonal and spooky” twist for the Halloween-themed show.

Ms Pearl has recently returned from performing at the Stockholm Burlesque Festival, one of the most prestigious events in the international cabaret calendar.

Ms Pearl said: “Cabaret and burlesque shows are welcoming and uplifting.

“If you’ve got a sense of humour and a wicked streak, or just want to try something a bit different, then these shows are hard to beat as a night out.”

The Pearl Revue promises a lively evening of music, circus, drag, and burlesque, all delivered with a generous dose of humour.

This will be the couple’s second fundraiser for Tenovus Cancer Care, following a sold-out show in February 2026 at the same venue, which raised more than £1,000 for the charity.

Outside of their fundraising, Kit Lambert’s latest project, The Detection Club, is a new BBC drama centred on fictionalised versions of iconic crime writers Agatha Christie, G.K. Chesterton, and Dorothy L. Sayers.

He serves as executive producer and lead writer on the series, which is set to air next year.

Tickets for The Pearl Revue are expected to sell out quickly. They cost £20 and are available from the Quill and Pearl website.
