Plans for digital advertising screen at Penarth Railway Station
Permission has been granted to install a 65-inch wall-mounted digital advertising poster at Penarth Railway Station.
The D6 SCREEN will replace an existing display and operate with strict conditions to minimise distraction.
The screen will display only static images, with no moving animations or flashing lights permitted.
Content will not refresh more frequently than every 120 seconds, ensuring a subdued visual presence within the station environment, while the enclosure will measure 990 centimetres in width and 1,910 centimetres in height.
Lighting levels will be carefully controlled to avoid glare or dazzle to road users and pedestrians.
Tree reduction and maintenance at Mariner’s Heights
Plans have been approved for maintenance to a Holm Oak tree subject to Preservation Order No 1 of 1985 at Mariner’s Heights, a three-storey residential development off Paget Place, Penarth.
Works will include the removal of ivy and basal growth, a crown lift to 3.5 metres above ground level, and a crown reduction of three to four metres.
Dead or damaged sections of the crown will also be removed.
The tree is located adjacent to the Northcliffe Lodge apartment development and is referenced as T5 within the Preservation Order.
All work is to be carried out by a qualified tree surgeon within 12 months of approval.
