Gareth Whyman, aged 54, of Church Road, Barry has been ordered to pay £176 after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
At Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, he was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 in costs as well as a £16 victim surcharge.
His driving licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
