Barry Town Council will host the free event on Thursday, August 27, at Central Park and King Square, with the area set to be transformed into a ‘magical fantasy world’ for the day.
The event will run from 11am to 4pm and will feature a packed programme of interactive activities, entertainment and affordable workshops for all ages.
Councillor Bronwen Brooks, leader of Barry Town Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome the return of Barry Town Council’s Family Fun Day.
“This year’s fantasy theme promises a day filled with imagination, adventure and hands-on experiences for all ages.
“We know that the summer holidays can be an expensive time for families, so we’re proud to provide a free event with a wide range of affordable activities that everyone can enjoy together.
“Whether you’re meeting dragons, learning new skills or taking part in creative workshops, we hope families will spend the day making lasting memories.”
The family fun day aims to offer an affordable and accessible outing during the summer break.
Highlights include dragons, falconry, archery, medieval knights, storytelling sessions, giant family games, NERF activities, arts and crafts, gaming workshops, virtual reality experiences and cyber security activities.
Many experiences will be available free of charge and others offered at low cost.
King Square will feature food, drink, craft and community market stalls throughout the day.
These stalls will offer visitors the chance to support local businesses while enjoying the event.
The family fun day is one of Barry Town Council’s flagship community events, bringing together organisations, activity providers and businesses to create an inclusive and welcoming celebration for residents and visitors alike.
