Anna Higson, 53, of Main Street, Barry appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where she was handed a community order after admitting to causing her victim to fear violence.
Between November 5, 2025, and March 12, Higson made repeated threats to kill the woman in Barry.
She entered a guilty plea on May 13.
Higson was ordered to abstain from alcohol for 80 days until September 4.
She was also ordered to complete up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
Cardiff Magistrates’ Court ordered her to pay ÂŁ85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
A restraining order was put in place to protect the victim and will remain active until June 16, 2028.
The order prohibits Higson from contacting her directly or indirectly, including through social media, and from entering any part of her residence.
She is also banned from attending the victim’s place of employment, paid or unpaid, unless it is for a pre-arranged appointment set by her allocated social worker.
The court stated that Higson’s course of conduct put the victim in fear that violence would be used against her, and that she “knew or ought to have known” the impact of her actions.
