Officers confirmed they were at the scene on Friday evening, September 25, and members of the public were asked to avoid the area.
South Wales Police said there are no suspicious circumstances, and formal identification was yet to take place.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Officers are currently in attendance following the discovery of a body in woods near Cae Canol, Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan this afternoon.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.
“Formal identification has yet to take place.
“Please avoid the area to allow emergency services access to the scene”.
South Wales Police confirmed officers were no longer at the scene on Saturday morning, September 26.
