Bodycare beauty chain reopening 17 stores including one in Wales – full list

by David Jones

The chain went into administration last year but is now set to return to the high street, naming 17 planned locations with the first this month

A prominent high street retailer that fell into administration 10 months ago has informed customers “we’re so back” as it revealed 17 locations for new shops. The first of these is in Sheffield and will open in July.

Bodycare entered administration in September, shutting all its 147 shops, with more than 1,000 staff members losing their positions. The chain, which was established in 1970 in Lancashire, offered beauty products, fragrances and other bathroom essentials in its outlets located in both shopping centres and high streets throughout towns and cities across the UK.

But it has now announced on its website that it will return. It said: “We’re so back. New look. New names. Same ‘wait what?!’ prices.”

The outlets will feature some new offerings including a professional piercing studio at every location. It has also confirmed it will include free-to-use “in-store content creator studios”.

It revealed the locations, stating the named outlets would be followed by additional sites adding: “17 stores already announced. More on the way.” These include the Cwmbran Centre.

The website did not give a precise opening date for the Sheffield outlet, instead marking it as “July”. It also did not offer any further information on when the other planned locations would open but stated: “coming soon”.

The shop will reopen at the following sites:

  • The Moor, Sheffield
  • Highcross, Leicester
  • Derbion, Derby
  • Merry Hill, Brierley Hill
  • The Broadway, Bradford
  • The Mall, Blackburn
  • St Johns, Leeds
  • Mill Gate, Bury
  • The Centre, Livingston
  • The Bridges, Sunderland
  • Cwmbran Centre, Cwmbran
  • Metrocentre, Gateshead
  • The Fort, Glasgow
  • Frasers Plus Luton, Luton
  • Golden Square, Warrington
  • Grosvenor Shopping, Northampton
  • Trinity Walk, Wakefield
