A young boy has been left with life-changing injuries after a crash on Wednesday afternoon which closed a main road for hours.
Police and ambulance workers rushed to the scene at Brecon Road in Hirwaun following the crash at around 4pm.
The boy was taken to hospital and has sustained injuries described as life-changing, South Wales Police confirmed on Thursday. No arrests have been made.
Following the crash on Wednesday near the Co-op store at Brecon Road the road was closed for hours, opening after midnight on Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Police were called around 4pm yesterday (March 4) to a collision on Brecon Road, Hirwaun. The road was closed in both directions. A young boy was taken to hospital with what are described as life-changing injuries. No arrests were made.”
