A car crashed into a parked campervan at the side of the road and burst into flames, destroying both vehicles. Firefighters say they were called to the incident on the A40 near Brecon during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Images captured at the scene show the car in flames as fire crews try to tackle the blaze on the side of the busy road. Nobody was injured in the fire, although both vehicles were completely destroyed by the damage caused.
A spokesman for the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 1.16am on Saturday, February 21, crews from Brecon and Talgarth Fire Stations were called to an incident along the A40 near Brecon.
“Crews responded a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle and one campervan. The private motor vehicle had collided with the stationary campervan which caused a fire.” Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter here.
The spokesman continued: “Crews utilised two breathing apparatus sets, five hose reel jets, small tools and lighting to extinguish the fire. No casualties were trapped nor injured in either vehicle. Both vehicles were destroyed by the fire.
“Crews left the scene at 2.56am.”
