Car hits multiple people in Swansea street

A car hit multiple pedestrians on a busy street in Swansea, police have said.

Emergency services were called to reports of the collision in High Street, in Swansea city centre, at around 10pm on Saturday evening.

A police spokesman said a car hit two pedestrians.

One woman was taken to hospital following the crash.

South Wales Police said it is investigating the incident.

The collision led to multiple roads in Swansea city centre being shut while emergency services responded to the incident.

The Strand, Welcome Lane, and High Steet were all cordoned off with members of the public asked to avoid the area.

A police statement said: “South Wales Police was called at 10pm on Saturday, August 29, to reports of a car having hit two pedestrians on High Street, Swansea.

“One woman was taken to hospital with her injuries, investigations into the incident are ongoing.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
