Blackweir Live will see Pitbull, Lewis Capaldi, Teddy Swims, and The Cure performing at Bute Park this summer

Drivers in Cardiff face five days of disruption in the coming weeks as the Blackweir Live music series returns to the city.
Over three dates in June and two in July busy roads throughout the city centre will be closed with transport disrupted as major artists head to Bute Park.
Blackweir Live 2025 saw Alanis Morissette, Slayer, and Stevie Wonder play in Bute Park with thousands attending the gigs. This week Cardiff Council approved planning permission for the return of the event for the next six years until August 2031. The following concerts will take place at Blackweir Live this summer:
- Wednesday, June 24 – The Cure
- Friday, June 26 – Teddy Swims
- Tuesday, June 30– Lewis Capaldi
- Wednesday, July 1 – Lewis Capaldi
- Saturday, July 4 – Pitbull
Road closures
The following roads will be closed between 4pm until midnight to facilitate these events on concert dates:
- Castle Street throughout its length from the junction with Westgate Street
- Duke Street and Kingsway in their entirety
- North Road from the junction with Colum Road down to Boulevard De Nantes and Boulevard De Nantes to the junction with Park Place (Buses will be granted access via Park Place/Boulevard De Nantes and onto The Friary to gain access to Greyfriars Road)
- Cowbridge Road East from Cathedral Road through to the junction with Westgate Street. Access to Westgate Street will be permitted
Access to part of the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day from 7am. Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road, and Gorsedd Gardens Road.
The right-hand turn from Colum Road into Corbett Road will also be suspended for the road closure times to manage access to residents and business off Corbett Road.
Transport
A dedicated taxi pick-up and drop-off area will be available at the Civic Centre by the National Museum. Taxi drivers are being advised by Cardiff Council they will not be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers on North Road.
Access for buses and taxis will be maintained via Greyfriars Road, Castle Street, Duke Street, and Kingsway as well as Cowbridge Road East between Cathedral Road and Westgate Street to help crowds leave the area safely.
There will be additional carriages and capacity on trains on services to and from Cardiff. Great Western Railway is adding additional carriages to help customers get back to Bristol following the Blackweir Live concerts this summer.
Transport for Wales has provided additional capacity on routes to and from Cardiff for all Blackweir events with later services scheduled to accommodate attendees.
In Cardiff from 10pm Cathays station and the station bridge will close and passengers will be directed to either Cardiff Central or Cardiff Queen Street station.
A queuing system will be in place with passengers at both Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central.
