{"id":35571,"date":"2023-11-10T09:42:38","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T09:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admin_backup"},"modified":"2026-02-15T17:54:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T17:54:23","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vale50plus.org\/clone\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Vale 50+ Strategy Forum is a proactive public engagement group, working tirelessly to achieve the following objectives.<\/h2>\n<p>Ensure that older people&#8217;s opinions and views are taken into account in all local and national strategic and operational planning.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the over fifties to engage effectively with local and national government.<\/li>\n<li>Involve members with their local community, involving them in planning of local services and infrastructures.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and develop a platform from which to challenge all discriminatory practice including age discrimination.<\/li>\n<li>Help to develop policies to tackle poverty and social exclusion.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the development of integrated services to meet older people&#8217;s need.<\/li>\n<li>Help to develop a better public and community transport system.<\/li>\n<li>Help to develop a better health, social care services for older people.<\/li>\n<li>Support the wellbeing of older people.<\/li>\n<li>Help to develop sustainable housing for life, suitable for all generations.<\/li>\n<li>Executive members lead five working task groups that work on specific agendas:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bg-danger\">\n<ul class=\"Check\">\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/acl\">Arts Crafts and Leisure Group (ACL)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/bme\">Black, Minority Ethnic<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/climate\/\">Climate Change<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/health\">Health and Social Care Group<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/housing\">Housing Group<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/FreshStage\/transport\/\">Transport Group<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The forum has agreed the following priorities for 2022\/2023:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cost of living<\/li>\n<li>Digital inclusion &amp; loneliness<\/li>\n<li>Climate change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vale 50+ Strategy Forum is a proactive public engagement group, working tirelessly to achieve the following objectives.
