\n The opera singer, 54, stayed out of the limelight after being axed by the BBC in the Strictly storm.\n<\/p>\n
\n But the former Go Compare star is returning to the limelight this week with loyal fans paying up to \u00a380 a ticket to see his Beyond Compare one-man tour.\n<\/p>\n
\n Just a handful of tickets remain for Mr Evans’ five-night run across theatres in his native Wales – with the first show taking place on Wednesday, May 20, in Monmouth.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Evans was accused of using the term ‘spit roast’ about dancer Janette Manrara – but claimed instead it was a nickname for EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick.\n<\/p>\n
\n He apologised for the ‘inappropriate and unacceptable’ language at the time – but later said he was forced into the statement by corporation chiefs.\n<\/p>\n
\n In a post on Instagram, he said: “I’m going on tour next week. It would be lovely to see you there. It really, really would.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n “It would be great to have all the support that we can. There’s a few tickets left. So it would be great if you grab yourself a couple.\n<\/p>\n \n “Come along and see me, say hi afterwards. Looking forward to seeing you.”\n<\/p>\n \n Mr Evans announced the tour just before Christmas and thanked his fans, known as Wynners, for their help.\n<\/p>\n \n He said: “I was prepared to sink into obscurity due to mental health problems, but the power of people is phenomenal when you need help.\n<\/p>\n \n “I came back home to Wales and my Wynners lifted me up and refused to let me give in.\n<\/p>\n \n “A flood of support and encouragement has literally helped me to recalibrate myself and recover from the issues that the powerful spotlight of fame threw at me.\n<\/p>\n \n “So now I’m pledging to give back to those that have helped me by staging my own one-man show.”\n<\/p>\n \n It is a stand-up meets opera one-man live show called Wynne Evans – Beyond Compare, and will be touring across Wales for five nights from May 20 to 24.\n<\/p>\n \n \n “I’ll start in Wales, because this is a show to give back to those at home who have really supported me. Who knows where it’ll go from there.\n<\/p>\n \n “But I couldn’t ignore the outpouring of support from my fans. I can’t hide away; I’m going to give back to them. I’ll make this the best evening out that anyone has ever experienced.\n<\/p>\n \n “Laughter, candid chat, untold stories, audience interaction, and of course a lot of opera – I’m giving it my all.”\n<\/p>\n \n Mr Evans was a rising star at the BBC when he won the 18th series of Celebrity MasterChef on BBC One.\n<\/p>\n \n He competed in Strictly Come Dancing when he was partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones. But his reputation was tarnished when he was allegedly seen manhandling her.\n<\/p>\n \n Mr Evans only found out he’d been fired after reading it in the media, and days later \u00addiscovered his BBC pass was deactivated without warning.
