Coastal Coffee in Barry named best coffee shop in Wales

The awards, run by Oceanic Awards, celebrate the many cafés, bakeries and coffee shops in Wales that represent excellence in the food industry.

The winners were announced at an elegant ceremony which was held on March 23 at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff.

Yasmin Mahmood, chief executive of Oceanic Awards, said: “These awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and innovation of talented individuals and businesses in the industry.

“We want to congratulate all of our winners on their incredible accomplishments.”

Coastal Coffee in Barry was named the winner in the Best Coffee Shop category.

“We only won,” the coffee shop posted, sharing the news with customers on social media. “Can’t thank all of you enough.”

Zio’s Gelateria in Barry Island were also recognised at the awards ceremony, earning Outstanding Achievement in the Dessert Parlour of the Year category.

Best Café Food: Bedwellty House and Park (Tredegar)

Outstanding Achievement: Honey Café (Brecon)

Recognised for Excellence: Roots Café Conwy Falls Forest Park & Cafe (Pentrefoelas)

Artisan Bakery of the Year: Pettigrew Bakeries (Cardiff)

Outstanding Achievement: Alex Gooch Shops (Cardiff)

Tearoom of the Year: Honeybee House Tearoom (Cardiff)
