It was discovered on Monday leading to emergency repairs being carried out

A sinkhole caused traffic disruption on a road in Swansea for days.

The surface defect opened up in Garrod Avenue in Dunvant on Monday afternoon.

It led to police and highways attending the scene to ensure the public’s safety.

Swansea Council carried out repairs to the sinkhole with the road fully re-opened again on Thursday afternoon.

The authority claimed that its investigations found a previous highway reinstatement by a utility company had failed. Never miss a Swansea story by signing up to our newsletter here.
