There was one verse from a Psalm that my mind sums the experience up – “The Heavens declare the glory of the Lord.; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19 v 1.
The psalmist, David, goes on to share that there is a language understood by all, as it is soundless (v 3). In verse 4 he shares “yet their voice goes to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched His tent for the sun.”
What a gracious gentle reminded that we are not to worship the sun, moon and stars but the one who created them and then at the end created us man and woman to enjoy his creation.
Genesis 1v 29 to 31 says, “God blessed them and said to them “Be fruitful… rule over the fish… I give to you…they will be yours for food… God saw all that He had made, and it was very good”.
Do you and I appreciate all we have been given? Does it have to take special events like last Thursday to understand what our blessings are? It should not as the apostle Paul takes this thought up in the letter to the Romans and states, “For since the creation of the world God’s Invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen……..so that people are without excuse. (Rom 1 v20). So, will we decide to give God the creator his rightful place in our lives?
Come let us bow down in worship let us kneel before the Lord our maker; for he is our God and we are his people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” (Psalm95 v 6,7, ff)
